Since then, the area has grown to include several residential communities thanks to the waterway access and the Bay's location, just a one-hour commute from the busy business districts of San Francisco Bay. Families and individuals looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the big city often consider the Discovery Bay area.

There is an abundance of community activities to participate in, and these exclusive residential boating communities offer many benefits and amenities. The beautiful weather and picture-perfect views can be experienced here throughout the year, but the most beautiful time of year in Discovery Bay is the holiday season.

The Discovery Bay Marina is a popular spot thanks to the beautiful views of the Bay, as is the Boardwalk Grill, both of which offer some of the freshest seafood you can get. The Discovery Bay Country Club has member-exclusive dining in its elegant dining room and banquet accommodations for gatherings. There are a number of shopping centers to explore. The Discovery Bay Shopping Center and the Sandy Cove Shopping Center offer name-brand stores and shops, services, and restaurants. Starbucks is conveniently located nearby to keep your energy up while you shop.

Things to Do

When you live in a place like Discovery Bay, one thing you will not run out of is things to do. The Discovery Bay Country Club is member-exclusive and features a beautifully landscaped golf course with Clubhouse accommodations. The Campos Family Vineyard hosts a variety of concerts, wine tastings, and private events like weddings and family gatherings.
 
Parks and recreational areas are scattered throughout, offering activities in an Athletics Park and a Calisthenics Park. There is also an Ornamental Garden, and don’t forget the watersports. Paddleboarding, swimming, and water skiing can all be enjoyed as well as boating and fishing.
 
The holiday season brings an abundance of festive lights to Discovery Bay thanks to three annual parades. The town kicks off the holidays with the Parade of Lights and tree lighting ceremony. The Discovery Bay Yacht Club has its Lighted Boat Parade, which is open to the public. Last is the Willow Lake Lighted Boat Parade, which is only available to Willow Lake residents.
